- Abstract
The prevalence of school injuries and bullying is estimated in a sample of schoolchildren from the Eje Cafetero. For this, it was carried out a transversal study with a descriptive analysis, in which it developed a secondary analysis of the National School Health Survey - ENSE 2017. Participated 4,353 adolescents from the Cafetera Region between 12 and 17 years old, of which 51.8% are women and 47.8% men, school level from seven to eleven. The results show that 24.8% of the schoolchildren surveyed reported serious injuries and 14.2% indicated that they were bullied in the last month. 23.5% affirm that they participated in a physical fight, and 17% that they had been victims at least once. 37.9% have been verbally assaulted and 6.6% have been rejected, in the last 30 days. It is concluded that there are multiple risk factors to consider school bullying as a public health problem and it is important to increase funding and the involvement of suitable professionals that promote well-being and mental health in school contexts by development programs.
