Abstract
The article comments on the paper "Network effects in the Governance of strategic alliances," by David T. Robinson and Toby E. Stuart, published in a 2007 issue of the "Journal of Law, Economics and Organization." The paper asserts that the stock of prior alliances between participants in the biotechnology sector forms a network that serves as a governance mechanism in interorganizational transactions.
