- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a 63-year-old woman with a history of recurrent manic episodes. The woman recovered from her episodes without medication and attributed them to psychosocial stressors. She has a positive family history of Huntington's disease (HD), and one of her daughters has tested positive for the disease. The article discusses the possibility of a genetic link between HD and the woman's vulnerability to developing psychiatric symptoms. It also highlights the need for further research on the lifespan symptomatology of HD gene carriers and provides recommendations for screening and treatment.
