- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 42-year-old white female, admitted for frothy sputum and trouble breathing, with a past psychiatric history significant for alcohol dependence. The patient was diagnosed with alcoholic hallucinosis or alcohol-induced psychotic disorder, often missed in those withdrawing from alcohol use or those who present conflicting details of previous use. Pateints with alcohol-induced psychotic disorder experience auditory hallucinations.
