- Authors
Burdine, Steven T.; Peelle, Michael W.
- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 50-year old man who complains of severe pain in the right forearm with circumferential fiberglass cast. He obtained a right fifth metacarpal fracture two weeks prior to his admission at the emergency department, where cast is applied. The patient is non-compliant on the cast care instructions while working at home. The article discusses the common site, potential etiologies, and treatment of compartment syndrome as the diagnosis of the patient.
