- Abstract
The article focuses on the decision of the Ontario Court of Appeal in the case R v Jones wherein demonstrate the failure of Canadian jurisprudence to protect the reasonable expectations of individuals regarding privacy during police searches of computers and other digital media. It mentions that police searches and seizures must comply with section 8 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the plain-view doctrine to digital evidence.
