- Authors
Potts, D.T.
- Abstract
Recent excavations by V.I. Sarianidi in the so-called ‘royal necropolis’ of Gonur Depe North, in southern Turkmenistan, have brought to light the first unequivocal example of an Umm an-Nar-type soft-stone compartmented vessel ever found in Central Asia. The find is discussed in light of other evidence of links between Central Asia, south-eastern Arabia and Bahrain.
