- Abstract
The article discusses land conflicts in India between Maoist rebel groups and the government. Maoism is a form of communism. The author explains that the Indian government is holding land and its resources for private companies. The history of this conflict is detailed. The author explains that the Maoists formed their own political party in 2004, the Communist Party of India. The high number of Maoist activity in the Dantewada district of Bastar, India is explored. The author states that the government jails farmers who refuse to sell their land. The article also discusses the economic and human resources of the Maoists.
