- Abstract
The author of this article presents her reaction to the success of a conference organized by the Kentucky Library Association (KLA). During the conference last month she remarked to KLA Executive Secretary Tom Underwood that she felt she had failed to do something as Chair of the Conference Planning Committee because things were going so smoothly. Tom's professional contributions allow the members of the Association to have consistently excellent conferences. This year was no exception and the author wants to thank the others who made it happen. Carol Nutter provided steady guidance to her and the rest of the committee and kept them on track. Rose Davis helped her arrange the mini-sessions and find many of the moderators. The author had two exasperating experiences planning her section's spring conference. When first approached about serving as KLA President-Elect with the responsibility of chairing the conference planning committee, she hesitated because she assumed it would be an amplification of her previous experiences. She was wrong. She recommend the job to anyone who is willing to step back and let others shine in their areas of expertise.
