- Abstract
This study aimed: (a) to determine the prevalence of faculty rank among two-year colleges in the United States; (b) to identify the criteria used to determine faculty rank upon initial employment for transfer and vocational faculty; (c) to identify the criteria used to determine promotion for transfer and vocational faculty; and (d) to determine if there were differences in criteria between transfer faculty and vocational faculty at initial appointment and subsequent promotion.
