- Abstract
The article examines the adverse effects and barriers on initiating insulin in patients with type 2 diabetes through the result of a randomized controlled trial. The authors discuss the selection of an insulin regimen, titration, delivery of care, and how to combine insulin therapy with oral antihyperglycemic agents. They conclude that future research on the effect of different insulin regimens on morbidity and mortality is needed to meet the individual needs of patients.
