- Abstract
The article discusses the use of a beetle called Zygogramma bicolorata to combat the invasive weed called the Parthenium that is causing the destruction of crops in Ethiopia. Topics discussed include the limitations of this form of biocontrol, the efforts of the Integrated Pest Management Innovation Lab from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia, and the way the weed traveled from the U.S. to Ethiopia.
