- Abstract
The article reports about the history and story of the BASF Corporation in Rensselaer, New York. This report focuses on the long history of the dye manufacturing industry specifically the BASF company which braved wars and peace during its operation that dates back in 1883 when the plant opened. It was called the Hudson River Aniline and Color Works from a company founded in Albany in 1868. For employees at the dye plant, it is more than a source of living, it is family history for nearly everyone in the ranks has had a grandfather or a father who worked there. The plant now undergoes a sad process of production line shut down and taking it away to Mexico and Germany.
