- Authors
Sossai, Mirko
- Abstract
The article offers a comparative analysis on the resolution concerning the relationship between the internal armed conflict in Columbia and the global fight against terrorism by the United Nations (UN) Council. It examines the qualification that condemns the car-bomb explosion at the El Nogal club in Bogotá as an international terrorism and a threat to peace and security by the Resolution 1373. It notes on the ambiguity of the application of the International humanitarian law on the non-international conflict in Colombia. It notes on the campaign of the Colombian President Alvaro Uribe to revoke the Resolution 1373 and to cast the state of violence in Columbia as an antiterrorist fight in which military confrontation is the solution.
