- Title
Tumorigenesis: Testing ground for cancer stem cells.
- Authors
Delude, Cathryn
- Abstract
The article discusses the advantage of multiple myeloma in testing the cancer stem-cell hypothesis and the process known as tumorigenesis. It mentions that the cancer stem-cell hypothesis contradicts the prevailing view of tumorigenesis. It says that the researchers can take repeat biopsies in myeloma compared to other cancer diseases. According to cancer biologist Max Wicha, proving the cancer stem-cell theory in multiple myeloma could lead to a validation of the model for other cancers.
