- Abstract
The polytheists are criticized in the Qur'an as they understand the life at visible dimensions within cause-effect relationships and decisions of human beings and as they pursue the power, keep away from the reality and become worldly by only focusing on visibility of world life together with several issues. Polytheists' being criticized on the issues mentioned here will be dealt on the ground of the verses 1 -10 of er-Rûm sura and 29-30 of en-Necm and interpretation resources. As well as explaining aforementioned faults of polytheists, the worldly -centered perception that do not pay attention to divine truths being common in modern era and inexact ta'vil of some issues shall be discussed. Polytheists told companions "we will defeat you and efface your religion" upon Mazdean Persians' winning against Christian Rums in Mecca period. While the issues as the Rums would gain the victory with the help of Allah and this was the promise of Allah that would actualize absolutely and only the will of Allah would take place are expressed in 1-10th verses of er-Rûm Sura, it is also stated that companions are supported and polytheist mentality is criticized in various terms. It is understood from the related verses and glossators that the life is comprised of both visible and esoteric dimensions and the polytheists, who pretend to be knowledgeable and intelligent although all their preoccupations are with worldly interests actually have a very narrow horizon limited to worldly interests. It is seen within the scope of these verses that the flow of the life is under the control of Allah, the reality of their promise and the destruction of people due to their sins and belief in afterlife constitute the deep/esoteric issues of life.
