- Abstract
Organizations, realizing that the phenomenon of empowering employees has become a necessity to create a competitive and sustainable organizational structure, have started to try different managerial approaches and tools. In this study, it has been examined whether workplace spirituality and emotional labor can be used as an effective tool in empowering employees in the same context. The research was planned in a quantitative research design and was conducted as an online survey on the internet with 180 office workers of a local government organization. As a data collection tool in the research; demographic factors (gender, age, marital status, education level and working time in the same workplace); Workplace Spirituality Scale with Likert1-7 measurement level and three dimensions (6 expressions of meaningful work, 7 expressions of community awareness, 8 expressions of harmony with workplace values); Emotional Labor Scale with Likert 1-5 measurement level and three dimensions (6 expressions on surface acting, 4 expressions on deep acting, 3 expressions on natural behaviors) and Empowerment Scale with Likert 1-5 measurement levels and four dimensions (meaning, competence, autonomy and effect) was used. The data were analyzed with the SPSS21.0 statistical program. According to the results of the research; It was determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between workplace spirituality, emotional labor and empowering employees; The mediating role of emotional labor in the relationship between workplace spirituality and empowerment has been defined. Appropriate business strategies need to be developed in order to maximize employees' perceptions of workplace spirituality and emotional labor.
