- Abstract
The Central Great Plains Ecoregion in the United States occurs in a portion of four states in the American mid-west (Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas). There are 25 species and one subspecies found here, representing seven genera and three families (Acanthodrilidae, Lumbricidae and Megascolecidae). Eighteen of the species are native (endemic) to North America; all are European or Oriental (exotic) introductions. A description of the ecoregion and five colour photographs are also included.
