- Abstract
The subject of this study is the concept of „amā which is considered one of the metaphysical subjects and levels of existence of Islamic Sufism. The study was discussed within the framework of the thoughts of Ibn al-Arabi and his early commentators regarding „amā The idea of „amā is important as it is the first point where the existence of Allah becomes evident. The origin of the explanations made in the Islamic literature to establish the idea of „amā is based on the answer of the Prophet of Islam to the question "Where is God before creation?" by saying "in „amā ". Accordingly, „amā refers to the position of Allah before the creation of the world. In this regard, Ibn Arabi combines his vision of the origin of creation with creative imagination through the concept of „amā and stated that the exhalation of God, who imagines himself in other forms, creates a cloud that is the source of „amā According to him, this first cloud is a container that accepts all universal forms of existence that will emerge later. Therefore, „amā is associated with both breath and the absolute dream of God. In this study, it has been concluded that God first created „amā with his own breath, and by creating the entire world of existence within „amā the Divine Being rules all places and times.
