- Abstract
The article presents literary criticism of the books in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, including "Twilight," "New Moon," and "Eclipse". Particular focus is given to the roles of abuse, codependency, and white privilege in the relationship between the teenage female protagonist and her vampire love interest. Details on the role of Meyers' Mormon faith in the book and its messages are also presented. Topics discussed include the Gothic and female subordination.
