- Title
BRCA2, Purified, Reveals Some of Its Secrets.
- Authors
SCHMIDT, CHARLIE
- Abstract
The article discusses various studies on human BRCA2 protein, published in "Nature" and "Nature Structural Biology." BRCA2 is considered as one of the largest human proteins, having 3,418 amino acids. All studies tackled here aimed at purifying BRCA2, and showed the role of BRCA2 in coordinating homologous for DNA repair. One of the studies showed that BRCA2 regulates homologous recombination through its interaction with RAD51 protein.
