- Abstract
The authors discuss the results of their study on the risk of reinfection among patients who had infected polytetrafluoroethylene grafts retained on the vessel for hemodialysis and peripheral bypass. About 17% of those who underwent partial graft resection procedures had complications. Nearly 15% of 48 total remnants left behind had reinfection. It also shows that retaining grafts at the arterial or venous anastomoses had low complications.
