- Abstract
The article discuses the notion of educational philosophies as espoused in educational foundations courses and textbooks with philosophical awareness as an approach to teaching preservice home economics teacher education methods in these courses. Topics include professional experience helped me appreciate that family and consumer sciences (FCS) and home economics education; and home economics education and how it can and should be informed by educational philosophies.
