- Abstract
An overview and exegesis of the deutero-canonical Old Testament work of 5 Ezra 1:35-40 is presented, focusing on its promotion of Christian supercessionism through the depiction of the Jewish exile. Several portions of the passage are addressed individually in turn, clarifying the structure and thematic interpretation of the section. Conclusions are offered summarizing the passage's teachings regarding Gentile Christians and Jewish exiles.
