Toxoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii, which affects a third of the world population. The disease is usually asymptomatic but can lead to certain clinical manifestations in immuno-compromised individuals, fetus or new-born. The detection of toxoplasmosis in pregnant women allows appropriate therapy and limits the severity of fetal lesions.
