- Authors
CATALFAMO, Antonio
- Abstract
Invited by Irena Lama, professor of Italian literature at the University of Tirana, to present, at the Department of Foreign Languages, his latest book of poems, The revolt of the dancing demons (Pendragon Editions, Bologna, 2021), Antonio Catalfamo held the following intervention, which reconstructs the context in which these verses were born, which is that of Sicily, with all its cultural background, which dates back over the centuries, up to the classical Greek civilization, but also the broader one, represented from the world of ideas in which the author was formed as a man, poet, writer, intellectual and university teacher, projected into the present and into the future, with the consequent reflections not only on his existential story, but also on that of whole humanity, on the dramatic fate that hangs over it and which can lead to self-destruction.
