- Abstract
The fact that we are living in an era where technology dominates our lives and has become an integral part of it, but also because even the youngest express great interest in it, is the reason why the technology is becoming more and more included in the primary school curriculum. Therefore, government and education authorities around the world have invested heavily in transforming traditional learning into modern learning using information and communication technologies (ICT). Also in our primary schools there are continuous attempts to transform the teaching by integrating ICT, specifically with learning through educational software. However, there is an information that in some schools there are still elements of the traditional way of learning. That's why it is necessary to discuss to what extent educational software is used in our primary schools and what are the factors that influence this phenomenon. In this paper, a general research is done on the educational software and tools needed for integration in teaching, their properties and benefits, in order to identify the extent to which educational software and tools are used and what may be potential problems with which teachers and students may face in their application. A distinction is also made between classes with and without the use of educational software or tools, in order to discover students' attitudes towards modern learning compared to traditional teaching and at the same time to discover possible difficulties. For data collection a survey was conducted on 135 students from III to V grade who have the subject "Computer work and programming basics" from the primary school Jeronim De Rada from Kumanovo, North Macedonia. The results indicate that most of the surveyed students believe that learning through educational software is the best way of learning today.
