- Abstract
Nowadays, in the contemporary science and practice the crime, the perpetrator andd the victim are treated as parts of the same problem interlinked between them, and not as separated issues. This obviously is at the function of the effective combating of crime and of the protectionf of society in general. The purpose of this paper is emphasizing the importance and necessity for protecting the victims of crime in terms of arrangements with legal norms. Issues related to victims of crime should be regulated legally and their rights should be an integral part of human rights in general. This is an observation which is supported by all international documents which are issued in order to protect victims of crime. Having in account that international acts can not be comprehensive, it is necessary that in addition to ratification and acceptance of these acts, states should also bring their own legal norms depending on their specifications and in accordance with international standards. Therefore, the object of study in this paper will be the legal rights of victims of crime according to the international documents and national norms with particular emphasis on Macedonian legislation from the moment of suffering by the criminal act, until the end of the entire criminal case.
