- Abstract
The game is key aspect of the socialization of the child. Through it he/she learns important things about how to behave in certain social situations, how to behave in ordinary situations that are potentially life threatening like crossing the streets, learns to behave properly in human interactions. However, this is one side of the socialization. The other is that every culture imposes their own view on what is proper behavior and what is not in social context. It is possible to understand what its view is, only if we have in mind what kinds of personalities the society needs in order to survive. This view is not necessarily entirely healthy for the children, but as all children are reared in the same way one cannot see clearly if there is pathology in the way the children are reared because every child gets the same attitude and in turn expresses the same attitude. Some of the ways to identify whether a rearing practice is pathological or not are to check what the child’s reaction to it is, and that is true in a greater degree for the sensitive one, or if we look at the psychodynamics of the children’s games, etc., what the purpose of the games is.
