- Title
Assessing risk for rehospitalization and cardiac death in patients with heart failure: Can the dynamic duo of heart rate turbulence and T‐wave alternans help?
- Authors
Verrier, Richard L.
- Abstract
The authors discuss a study on the use of heart rate turbulence (HRT) and T-wave alternans (TWA) for the assessment of risk for readmission and cardiac death in patients with heart failure (HF), by S. Yamada, A. Yoshihisa, Y. Sato, et al, which appeared within the issue. Topics mentioned include the link between the presence of elevated levels of TWA with HF progression, and the other markers considered including the QRS complex duration. The limitations of the study are also explained.
