- Title
Transvaginal sonographic sliding sign: accurate prediction of pouch of Douglas obliteration.
- Authors
Reid, S.; Condous, G.
- Abstract
The article discuss the relation of of transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in predicting pouch of Douglas (POD) obliteration. The author mention that TVS sliding sign can also be used to predict the likelihood of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) lesions. They argue that skills and experience in visualizing posterior compartment are required in diagnosing DIE lesions using TVS. They add that few ultrasound studies regarding the use of TVS to predict POD obliteration have shown promising results.
