- Abstract
This article is an editorial that discusses the role of the epithelial immune microenvironment (EIME) in inflammatory skin diseases. The EIME is responsible for immune events in the epidermis and papillary dermis, and changes in this microenvironment can lead to the development of inflammatory skin conditions. The article highlights the importance of targeting the EIME as a therapeutic approach for managing these diseases. It also explores the role of fibroblasts, histone modification, 5-aminolevulinic acid, epithelial-associated cDC2, glycolysis, and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the context of inflammatory skin diseases. The article concludes by emphasizing the potential of single-cell technologies in advancing our understanding of the EIME and developing innovative therapies.
