- Abstract
An essay is presented which attempts to test the concept of a culture of war in an eighteenth-century context. It explores on the degree of popular mobilization, the relationship between invading soldiers and the native of population as well as the commemoration of victory over the next 50 years. It also discusses the memory of Saint-Cast coalesced around a regionalist interpretation that credited victory to the Bretons themselves.
