- Abstract
Two years after the reform of the property security rights in 2013, the legislator has initiated a more general endeavor aiming at give a new birth to property law. 1. This special issue of the EPLJ is entirely dedicated to the fundamental reform of Belgian property law. The Belgian legislator has, by Act of 4 February 2020 (hereinafter: "the Act") - which was enacted unanimously - recreated Belgian property law, resulting in the deletion of the existing rules on property law of the Napoleontic Civil Code and substantive rules of specific laws outside the Civil Code.
