- Abstract
The author discusses the study conducted by assistant professor Usama Mahmood of The University of Texas and colleagues which states that cancer patients covered under Medicaid health program and without medical insurance were more likely to diagnose with advanced disease and have lower chance of survival than patients with non-Medicaid insurance. Implications regarding the study using the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database are presented.
