- Abstract
The article focuses on the interactive aspects of technology design. It explains that technology is designed to be used and therefore, to interact with people. The concept of "interaction design" is explored and differentiated from human-computer interaction (HCI) in that it places more focus on design. Technological innovations and the increasing ambiguity between work and leisure are discussed as challenges to research in technology design. Various examples of interactive technology are described, including games involving floor tiles.
