BALANCING REAL ESTATE.
- Authors
LERNER, MICHELE
- Abstract
The article focuses on the U.S. real estate industry. Volatility in home prices and sales rates has been observed even within local markets and same neighborhood. The mortgage crisis has caused falling home prices, foreclosures, slow sales and a credit crunch that affected transactions unrelated to residential real estate. The government has launched initiatives aimed at stimulating the housing sector and revitalizing the economy to positively impact the real estate market. The Housing and Recovery Act of 2008 was discussed.
