- Abstract
This article emphasizes the importance of expedited arbitration system in the steel industry and the United Steelworkers of America in the U.S. It identifies the effects on employee's morale and productivity. The high-level representatives of the parties seeking expedited arbitration are constantly called on to review the local scene and to intervene aggressively and promote the system. The expedited arbitration is dependent on agreement between the local union and local management. It has also helped to highlight problems in the grievance procedure and in regular arbitration.
