Title
Artificial cornea saves eyesight.
Abstract
The article reports that an artificial cornea has been developed by research scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP and the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Regensburg. IAP project manager Dr. Joachim Storsberg explains that a special protein is applied to the edge of the cornea, which enables the cornea's natural cells to connect to the implant.
