- Abstract
The authors propose a novel methodology to read the archaeological record to overcome the problems posed by the reliance of contemporary palaeoanthropology on such notions as modern behavior and symbolic culture. They note the proposal is based on idea that a formal analysis of material remains may prove useful in determining the kinds of cognitive resources deployed to produce such objects. They describe the main component of the model as natural computational system (NCS).
