- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Vathek," by William Beckford is presented. It analyzes the influence of architectural design features on the novel, offering an examination of the psychology of the characters, the story's narrative, and the categorization of the work as a tale of Gothic didacticism. The work is also discussed in light of the genre of romantic fiction in the late 18th century.
