An interview with Sudanese writer Leila Aboulela is presented. She talks about her current project as of 2009, which is a historical novel set in Sudan in the early 1950s. She also offers her opinion concerning the term British Muslim writer being attached to her name. She also expresses her view concerning the greater specificity in her description as a writer, like the term "Scottish Arab writer." She also presents her opinion in the term "halal novelist" that is attached to her.
