- Abstract
The scarcity of studies that systematize the variety and variation of the diminutive has made difficult to incorporate them into Spanish class. In this article we examine the present morphological, semantic and pragmatic state of these suffixes from two original corpus: one written, 970 press articles, and another oral, six hour and a half of cooking programs. The materials come proportionally from the six dialect zones in which we have divided the Hispanic world: Spanish, Mexican and Central American, Caribbean, Andean, Chilean and River Plate. The analysis of these data, together with the bibliographic review on the Linguistic Geography of the diminutive, results in a proposal of inclusion of this suffixes in an Educational Curriculum Project.
