The article focuses on the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Fifth Circuit in the court case Comar Marine, Corp. v. Raider Marine Logistics, L.L.C. Topics include in its decision in the case the Fifth Circuit creates a strict standard for contracts giving rise to maritime liens, and the finding of the court that Comar wrongfully arrested the vessels because breach of management agreements did not give rise to maritime liens.
