- Abstract
The article presents information on the use of an index of idiolectal similitude or distance tool for forensic speech and text comparison. It informs that forensic linguistics work on language as evidence where samples of oral or written linguistic productions are used for evidence in a judicial process. It informs that recorded oral samples are analyzed with both acoustic and linguistic parameters during forensic speech comparison. Phoneticians consider nature of individual sounds which is related to the voice frequency and voice quality. It focuses on the usefulness of lexical patterns as an expert witness in the court proceedings.
