- Abstract
The article reports on the value of veterinary research in Great Britain. It discusses a report from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) which reveals that veterinary research is responsible for some achievements like the global eradication of rinderpest and the production of the first vaccine against a retrovirus feline leukaemia virus. The report also addresses the inefficiencies of food chain, draws attention to research contribution for animal welfare and wildlife conservation.
