- Abstract
The objective of this research was to understand how human resources policies and practices are being articulated in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in Espírito Santo companies from different sectors. Data were collected through semistructured interviews with HR managers and analyzed using interpretive textual analysis. The results indicate that the current context exposed the need for organizations to make business decisions considering the preservation of human life. For this, the HR function needed to break with the technical and procedural vision prevailing in the area, creating a work agenda with the human element at the center of decisions and balancing strategic, tactical and operational actions. Furthermore, the context required changes in the policies and practices of the companies surveyed and, for this review process, technology was a great ally, shaping the ways of working and accelerating the digital transformation.
