- Abstract
The article discusses the anatomy Callanthias australis species of perches. Topics discussed include soft rays found on anal and dorsal fins, secondary squamation being found on the head and body of the fish, several aspects of the anatomy of Callanthias australis including pectoral-fin rays, pseudobranch filaments and gillrakers, the body of the fish being purple and yellow in colour, sexual dichromatism being present in the species and the species being protogynous in nature.
