The article explores three narratives by authors who believe in physical transport of male and female witches, either by their own volition or by satanic assistance, and discusses the illustration of magic flight of the combination of fact and fiction found in novels during the early modern period. Topics discussed include texts such as magical travels to Constantinople of the late alchemist Doctor Johann Faustus, published in 1587, and intellectual and narrative challenges in witch encounters.
