- Abstract
Thirty-six patients, who in a questionnaire mailed four years after the start of treatment for craniomandibular disorders reported that they wanted more treatment, were invited back to the clinic for examination. Thirty (83% of those invited!) appeared (Group 1). From a matched control group of 34 who replied that they did not need any more treatment, only 19 (55%) came to the clinical examination (Group 2). As expected, the subjects in Group 1 evaluated their symptoms as more severe than those in Group 2; however, the severity of the clinically recorded signs of dysfunction it as only slightly, and not significantly, greater in Group 1.
